There we will receive information about the country´s unique geology and how Icelanders harness geothermal energy in an environmentally friendly way. From there we drive towards east and throughout the historical area Rangarvallasysla, the setting of the medieval saga Njalssaga..

We will stop at Hvolsvollur for a while and then drive to Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful, high waterfall we can walk behind. From there we continue the trip to Skogar, where there is another big waterfall, Skogafoss, and there
we will also visit the Museum of transport and an old historical museum, where we will have the possibility to see traditional sod farmhouses and other reconstructed buildings. There is also a museum shop and a cafe. We drive to Dyrholaey, a promontory reaching out into the ocean, displaying magnificient birdlife. From Dyrholaey we drive to Vik in Myrdal where we rest for a while. At Vik we can drive or walk by the coastline and visit a souvenir shop, which specializes in woolen clothes. From there, we return to Reykjavik via the same route.
